Assistant Solicitor

Henry County is accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Solicitor in the Solicitor General’s office. Applicants must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia. Starting salary for this position depends on qualification, with full county benefits including a defined benefit program. The prosecutor will handle a wide variety of criminal matters and should expect to quickly gain valuable courtroom experience. Prosecutorial or legal experience is preferred. Certified Police Officer

Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer in the Henry County Police Department. This position enforces laws related to the protection of life and property, directs and controls traffic, prevents crime or disturbance of peace, and arrests violators. Listed are some of the essential duties and responsibilities: They shall enforce all statutes, laws, ordinances, regulations and procedures of Department; maintains law and order, protects life and property and performing related assignments. Applicant shall become familiar with State Traffic Codes, Criminal Procedure Codes & Ordinances. Patrols assigned area on foot, by motorcycle, in patrol car, to enforce laws, prevent and discover crimes, investigate crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints. Answers radio-dispatched or citizens’ request for police services at the scene of accidents, domestic disputes, law violations, and peace disturbances. Qualifications are valid Georgia driver’s licenses; must submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview; completion of police training and education as required by Georgia Law; Good moral character; Honorable discharge ONLY for persons with military service; No felony or domestic violence convictions and must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of police officer.
Salary - $36,523.76

Chief Appraiser

Henry County Board of Assessors is seeking candidates for the position of Chief Appraiser. Applicant must have a Bachelors degree in Economics or related field and must be certified as an Appraiser IV by the Georgia Department of Revenue along with at least five years experience in appraising real property and in personnel supervision. Certification by the Georgia Board of Real Estate Appraisers is preferred but not required. The applicant must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to supervise an office of 30 plus employees and manage the appraisal of 80,000 plus parcels of real property. The applicant must have the ability to relate well with the public and members of the staff. The applicant must either know or be adaptable to ACS CAMA USA appraisal software. Applicant should have experience in testifying in Superior Court on tax appeals. The applicant that is hired will work for and is responsible to the Henry County Board of Assessors. Entry-level salary is DOQ and a complete benefit package is available. Applicant must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license and pass a physical, drug screening, and background check. Junior Developer

Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Junior Developer in the Henry County Technology Services department. This position is responsible for performing technical work in systems analysis, systems design, and application programming in accordance with core design, programming, and documentation standards. Some of the essential job functions include assisting in CSF roles of developer, testing advocate and support advocate in various phases of project implementation and on-going application support as assigned; troubleshoots simple to moderate user problems as they relate to web, client server, batch, application components, and applications security, both in the office and from remote locations; designs, codes, test, debugs and documents simple to moderate applications, applications enhancements, and reports to meet customer business needs and utilizing modern IS technologies; assists in training users on how to use new or enhances software applications for simple to moderate software solutions. The incumbent should be proficient in VB.NET, C# and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, Microsoft SQL Server up to version 2008, creating minor SQL stored procedures and general SQL knowledge. Incumbent will perform other related duties as directed. Minimum qualifications include: Associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or closely related field; and or three (3) years of progressively responsible related experience; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or closely related field; and must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Salary - $58,122.27
